How to Use Apple Cider Vinegar


We love apple cider vinegar at aboutlife due to its many uses across the kitchen, bathroom and even garden! It is a completely natural product too, made from apple juice which is first fermented to hard apple cider then fermented again to make apple cider vinegar.

ACV will balance your entire body system and can help you reach, and maintain, a healthy body alkalinity. It also creates an overall detoxification of the body and research has shown that it can help stimulate cardiovascular circulation plus detoxify the liver. It has been shown to break up mucous throughout the body, which can reduce allergic reactions, and cleanses the lymph nodes.

One of the best ways to star your day is with ACV shots, to give you a quick burst of energy, or in a drink such as the following being served in our cafes currently:


1T organic honey
Mint leaves to infuse
Cover with water and drink

It can also be used in a delicious salad dressing with 1 part vinegar to 3 parts olive oil, whisk and season to taste.

Not many people know that apple cider vinegar can be used as a rinse after shampooing and will increase your hair’s body and shine. Mix in a spray bottle one part vinegar to two parts water and spray through your hair after you shampoo. The vinegar smell will evaporate but this will seal the cuticle leaving your hair smooth and shiny with moisture locked in. Do this several times a week and you’ll soon see dramatic results. ACV can even be used to reduce to discomfort of sunburn – add a cupful to a bath after a day at the beach and soak for 10 minutes.
