At aboutlife we’re huge fans of chickpeas! They are a great source of both soluble and insoluble fibre as well as plant based protein so are an ideal food for vegans and vegetarians. Here are some recipes from our Group Wellness Ambassador, Vladia Cobrdova, using chickpeas:
Green & Black Hummus
3 cups pre-soaked and cooked chickpeas (the soaking helps convert the phytic acid and enzymes inhibitors which can cause problems with digestion)
2 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp macadamia oil
1 tbsp linseeds
1 tsp raw spirulina powder
2 tbsp black tahini
2 tsp of Himalayan salt
blend all ingredients in food processor and enjoy
Smokey Chick Pops
A healthy snack on the go or fabulous with a glass of wine 🙂
3 cups cooked chickpeas
2 tbsp macadamia oil
2 tsp himalayan salt
1 1/2 tbsp of smokey paprika
place all ingredients in a mixing bowl, mix through and then put on a baking tray.preheat oven to 150 degrees bake 40 minutes until crispy.
