In celebration of our Rozelle cheese counter we have launched a cheese of the week specially selected by our head cheesemonger.
This week’s cheese is the Small Cow Farm Blue, a bitty blue with big personality from the Southern Highlands. We are extremely excited to announce that our friends down at Small Cow Farm have come home with some fantastic awards from The Royal Easter Show 2014.
For the Small Cow Farm Blue (one of our personal favourite cheeses) they won Gold, Champion Bovine Cheese and Champion Specialty Cheese!! This is a truly outstanding achievement. If you are ever down in Robertson NSW make sure you pop along to the farm and say hello to Lesley and Mark who are the producers of these amazing cheeses! (And you could even book in to one of their cheese making courses!) In addition their Redella Wash Rind won Gold and Petite Vache Brie won silver, what fabulous achievements for this artisan cheese maker and all cheeses are available at Aboutlife Rozelle.
This bitey blue cheese is aged for at least 6 months to allow a strong, spicy blue flavour to develop. This is complimented by a rich, almost fruity sweetness and a buttery finish. It is made locally by Lesley and Mark Williams of Small Cow Farm located near Robertson in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Made with non-animal rennet.
